Three lazy days in Curacao.

When you’ve driven from one end of a country to the other (even if that country is a constituent of a larger kingdom), I think it’s fair to say you’ve earned some rest. So, with three days left in Curacao, our agenda wasn’t exactly packed: beaches, pools, eating, the occasional run, and sleep. Not a bad way to spend a few days if you ask me.

 

We arranged our airport transfers and rented the car through a company called Curacao-Actief, which we’d definitely recommend if you’re visiting Curacao. Our first day on the island, Corrie came to our villa to review tour options and had recommended several beaches for us to visit. As we still had our trusty Picanto for one more day, we decided to check out one of the other beaches that we didn’t make it to on our grand tour, Playa Cas Abao. Which, it just so happens, was named one of the Ten Best Beach Destinations by Yahoo! Travel in 2011.

 

 

After a long day at the beach, Ella retired to the BBFZ (baby bug free zone).

 

The following two days we just spent hanging out at the Papagayo Beach Club.

Or at the pool of the neighbouring hotels. The one at our hotel never did get fixed before we left. 

Before we knew it, it was time to head to the airport and make our way to Panama.

For anyone keeping track, this trip is one for the price of two as far as the country count is concerned for Katy and me. Panama is new to the list, but as far as the UN list is concerned, Curacao is still part of the Netherlands. Ella’s catching up.
